Cute and fun~ Love the art and animation!
if i was more into Kpop i would probably love it even more, but the songs were enjoyable. plenty of bops.
Wish it was just a little longer so that the story could feel stronger and maybe not so rushed.
now for my buzzkill opinion: i wish it had more of a commentary on the idol industry, but this is a kids/family movie
if this had come out when i was still in my teens/early 20's i think i would like this MUCH more
i was also spoiled for stuff i thought was going to happen in season 1, but season 2 is wrapping up so yeah....
i do like the medical mystery aspect and Maomao as a main character.
i'm in no rush to watch season 2, but i will eventually.
i'm going to be honest, that i wasn't feeling Frieren until episode 13. Frieren and Fern's personalities were too similar.
My two nit-picks are: the passage of time [not in the flashbacks] and the mismatch of period piece fashion.
SPOILERS
it wasn't until Sein showed up and called them out to "SPEAK TO EACH OTHER" that Fern and Frieren's personailties started to separate.
i also find the powerscaling/mana to be a little confusing so i hope that it's either fleshed out a bit in the future.
i really enjoyed the watercolor backgrounds and that this a true fantasy series and not another isekai, which is why i'll forgive it for characters over explaining things.
i am in no rush to read the manga, but i might pick it up before or after season 2.
